How it began..
It all began 5 years ago when I started the Instagram account @htspt_rotterdam. This profile gave me a platform to showcase all the best places from my hometown, Rotterdam. As my follower count grew I realized this could be so much more than just a social media account – and thus, HTSPT flourished into the company it is today. After years of photographing and writing about the most popular restaurants, hotels and events on our website, my team and I decided to take another big step and expand from online to offline. In the spring of 2019 we, along with English editor in chief, Jazmarae Beebe, created our first real printed city guide – which you can now find in shops throughout the Netherlands as well as our own webshop.
When Covid-19 hit at the beginning of 2020, almost all projects within my company came to a standstill. Because of this, we suddenly had extra time on my hands. We thought hard about what we were most passionate about, and what came to mind was: travel, photography and sharing experiences. This led to the birth of Chapter Fernweh – a company that creates content about the Balkans.
